Hearty and diverse - day after day

Liveable work at JUFA Hotels

JUFA Hotels is one of the largest employers in Austrian tourism. However, the idea is also growing beyond Austria’s borders. The locations in Germany, Liechtenstein and Switzerland are just the first step in the expansion of the successful JUFA idea.

Many hands work together to ensure that a JUFA Hotel runs smoothly. From the kitchen team to housekeeping & cleaning, service and hotel management, every JUFA Hotel is supported by a motivated, passionate and warm team.

We give our guests “Happy JUFA Moments together” and look forward to our work every day.

New collective agreement for employees in Austria

“People at the center” is a guiding principle that is firmly anchored in the company and in the JUFA Hotels DNA and now, fortunately, also in its own future collective agreement. After all, our own employees are the company’s most valuable asset, because in tourism, the most beautiful hotel room cannot compete with the sincere smile of the staff.

Fair salaries & bonuses

You can probably find a better-paid job in the hotel industry somewhere. Although – be careful, don’t compare apples with oranges!

Our salary has always been in our account on time every month for over 30 years. We have an electronic time recording system and overtime is paid out with a supplement in accordance with legal regulations or – if you wish – credited as hours.

At our Austrian and German locations there is a Sunday bonus of 25% and a night bonus of 30% (between 23:00 and 06:00). We pay holiday bonuses or you receive the hours as time off on another day. There are also vacation and Christmas bonuses in Germany.

In service and in the kitchen, you not only benefit from tips, but in Austria and Germany you also receive 5%-10% catering commission on your food and drink sales. Depending on the location and sales skills, commissions range between 150 and 650 for service staff.

Hotel managers receive target agreements with bonuses of up to 2 monthly salaries/year.

Work clothes and lunch are free in all JUFA hotels. Accommodation is provided for a small contribution towards expenses.

If you help out in another JUFA hotel for a few days, you will receive a flexi bonus.

You will be rewarded with our Bring your friend bonus if you help us to find good new employees.

Flexible working hours

What is important to you? Do you want to earn as much money as possible in one season? Then you can work 6 days a week. Your overtime will be paid at a premium rate.

If you work a normal 40-hour week, we can offer you a 4- or 5-day week. Go home in between? No problem! 3 to 4 days off in a row is fine.

If your free time is more important to you or you are looking after your children, then any kind of part-time work is possible. If you have private appointments, we will take these into account in our duty roster whenever possible.

Of course, our guests are also there at weekends, especially in the vacation hotel industry. Our employees are guaranteed one weekend off per month.

Accurate electronic time accounting is a matter of course for us. We are open to partial retirement models and (part-time) educational leave. We offer the option of sabbaticals for long-serving employees in management positions.

Career & further development

In the beginning there was the training… To help you get to grips with the job quickly – whether you’re a career changer or a specialist – and feel confident in your job, we have our quality manual, e-learning courses, webinars and one-day seminars for new starters. Colleagues and supervisors will of course also support you in the early days.

Training and further education: We rely on the high-quality academies and practical seminars of the Austrian Hotel Association and Dehoga in Germany, as well as our in-house training courses.

A career within JUFA Hotels? Of course! As part of our talent program, we will develop you into a manager.

Twice a year, all managers meet at our JUFA Hotels Congress, which lasts several days.

Change within the JUFA Group is always possible. New regions, new people without changing employers.

Family-friendly company

Vacations with the family are not only important for our guests. Employees with school-age children are therefore entitled to 2 weeks’ vacation during the holidays.

You can take parental leave with us for up to 4 years and then work part-time until your child is 14 years old.

Talk to us about your working hours – in many areas you can come in the mornings and work in the evenings or at weekends when your partner is looking after the kids.

Your kids are welcome to join us for lunch after school. In our hotels there is usually also a place for homework and the play area (indoor and outdoor) is great for waiting for mom or dad.

Team events & excursions

We are a team of all-rounders – as we help each other, there is also a lot of variety at work.

The highlight of the year at JUFA Hotels is our end-of-year party. Employees from all regions come together here to celebrate together. The top 10 hotel teams take to the stage, as do long-standing employees and trainees.

Our works council organizes company outings lasting several days every two years and the hotel teams go on fun excursions.

The team is our top priority. Time and again, our surveys show that our employees particularly appreciate the team spirit and cordial interaction.

Vacation discounts, Family & Friends and employee benefits

You will receive a 40% discount on your stay for trips with your family or friends to our hotels. Whether it’s a trip to Hamburg or the mountains of Switzerland, or you prefer to chill out at Lake Stubenberg or Lake Constance, we have something for everyone. In our employee app, we also regularly give away free vacations.

As the best memories are always created together, there is also a 15% discount for families and friends.

But that’s not all! As an employee at JUFA Hotels, you also receive many other benefits from selected partners, e.g. ÖHV-Friends program, and much more.

Accommodation

If you come to us from “far away”, we can provide you with a single room in many locations for a small contribution towards expenses. Sometimes in a hotel, sometimes in our team shared apartments or in small apartments.

In Liechtenstein and Switzerland, we only charge the legally prescribed amount.

Free lunch

To ensure that your physical well-being is well taken care of, we are happy to offer you a special service: all our employees eat for free during working hours – and just as well as our guests. Our kitchens cater for you with varied and tasty dishes. From regional classics to international dishes and sweet desserts, we give you a free choice every day.

In addition to traditional home cooking, you will of course always find vegan delicacies.

When things aren't going so well

Of course, your line manager is the direct contact person for all questions relating to your employment.

Our team in the HR department will be happy to answer your questions about payroll accounting, time recording, the family bonus and commuter allowance.

Our works council (Ö) will help you with problems in the team or personal challenges. It visits all hotels in Austria on a regular basis.
